The manufacturers of home appliances have already paid EPA a waste disposal fee for each home appliance when those appliances were first produced and such fee will be deposited to a special purpose fund for providing subsidy to the enterprises / operators who are in the business of purchase of used home appliance for waste disposal and recycling.

In light of many disputes on collection of waste disposal fee, EPA will promulgate guidance to regulate electronics manufacturers effective from July 2011.

Fine ranging from NT$ 60,000 to 150,000 will be imposed for any authorized or illegitimate collection of the waste disposal fee.
