Because the Collective Bargaining Agreement Act, Labor Dispute Settlement Law and Labor Union Act) will each take effect from May 1st of this year, the Taipei City Government is expected to provide the Collective Bargaining Agreement Template that will serve to protect the rights and interests of labor.

Labor groups have long believed that the Labor Standard Act and collective bargaining have not provided labor sufficient protections, and as a result, labor and labor unions have been dealing at a disadvantage when negotiating with management. It is hoped that the Collective Bargaining Agreement Template will include provisions for specific working hours and calculation of overtime pay to better protect the rights and interests of labor.
