SPECIAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS COURT TO BE ESTABLISHED IN TAIWAN

Taiwan’s Judicial Yuan is also planning to establish a special court that will exclusively handle disputes regarding intellectual property rights (IPR). As with the special court being considered for corporate reorganizations and bankruptcy, the new IPR court is expected to result in enhanced IPR protection and expedited adjudication of IPR disputes in Taiwan. The Judicial Yuan is currently studying possible organizational structures, personnel training, and judicial procedures for the IPR court.
